Thursday dawned with a lovely light northerly wind, and Nicholas decided it was time for us to head south to Hog Cay. He had recently had our Genneker furler altered to add a few arms to direct the rope to the drum, as previously the rope was getting caught around the shackle. With the light winds it was the perfect day to haul the Genneker out of the locker, hoist it and set sail.
We were most pleased that the altered furler worked perfectly, and we could now furl without the rope getting caught.
Unfortunately the Northerly did not last, and we had to furl and use the Genoa for the second half of our trip south to Hog Cay.
Arriving at Hog Cay and anchoring abeam the Yacht Club Hut
The light winds created perfect conditions to ‘see’ into the water and it was Hot.
