Bahamas - Ragged Island, Buenavista Cay

Meshugga and Sojourn sailed north from Hog Cay to Buenavista, some 15 miles, and anchored in an empty bay. Later another yacht arrived but kept his privacy by being well away from our anchored boats.

We went ashore to Edwards ruined house, from Hurricane Dorian, 2018.

House roof torn off.

Sides stripped of cladding

The remains of the Freezer

Drill press rusted to beyond repair

Banks of batteries…

The Goat Shed is in good condition with its’ roof intact with drainage pipes to water storage tanks

Not sure what this lean-to was

Up on the Hill, is Edwards’ Fathers’ Homestead, all build with rocks and concrete onto rock. But apparently has gone to ruin too

Huge Aloes everywhere

Later we walked across the island to look at the ocean. Meshugga at anchor

Karen pointing out the Ruins which we Bush Whacked to, on our last visit to Buenavista. We don’t know what the Ruins are. Walls of Rock, in the middle of a Pan

Across on the windward side, ie the Atlantic Ocean, Mike overlooking the strewn flotsam and jetsam which has been hurled up the cliffs by the sea

Karen overlooking a very windy sea

Back at Edwards House, Nicholas had rigged up lighting which works off Solar, and was making some adjustments to the installation. It’s quite marvelous at night to look ashore and see lights up lighting the only huge tree.

And later it was Games aboard Meshugga with Sojourn joining us for Mexican Trains.
