Bahamas - Ragged Island, Hog Cay, A New Trail

Sorry for the Long Delay in posting. Blame it on me having too much fun, or me just being slack….πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΈπŸ€£⛵️

We sailed overnight from Great Inagua so that we would arrive at the Raggeds, and specifically to transit the Hog Cut during daylight hours, as it is a tight Dog-Leg with dangerous reefs looking to snare you if not keeping a good lookout.

Pano of our transit through the Cut

We had however done this Cut before so had our Track, as well as the Aqua Maps recommended route, so there was not danger to us, but I still kept a good lookout from Boom height with Polarized Sunglasses and a Cap to shield the sun glare.

As I’d done some shopping for Karen on SV Sojourn we headed to Hog Cay where they were anchored.

Great meeting up with old friends, and making new friends.

We even put together a work party to cut a New Trail, which would allow one to walk from the Cruisers Hut, all the way to the Kreepy Doll Trail, traverse the island, and then walk back along the Seaward East side of the island and transverse back to the Hut, totaling about a 3.5 mile Hike.

The proposed Trail.
